Cornerstone Expands Public Affairs and Strategic Communications Team with Three New Strategists in Georgia, Oklahoma and South Carolina

Expert communicators Shelby Forrest, Cameron Jenkins and David Ramsey join the firm

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 3, 2026 — Cornerstone Government Affairs (Cornerstone), an employee-owned, bipartisan government affairs firm, announced today that it has expanded its Public Affairs and Strategic Communications Team with the addition of three new strategists. Shelby Forrest and Cameron Smith Jenkins join the firm as Vice Presidents, and David Ramsey joins as an Associate.

“Shelby, Cameron and David each bring strong public affairs and strategic communications experience that will further enhance our ability to provide on-the-ground support to clients across the country,” said Cornerstone President Campbell Kaufman. “Their backgrounds in corporate communications, advocacy campaigns, media engagement and policy-focused messaging will further strengthen the firm’s mission to provide strategic, bipartisan services.”

Shelby Forrest will serve as a Vice President in Cornerstone’s Oklahoma office. In this role, she will support clients’ strategic communications efforts, with a particular focus on the financial and retail sectors.

Prior to Cornerstone, Forrest served as Manager of Communications at Global Payments, where she led a team of communications specialists responsible for executing programs across customer, partner and sales audiences. She also developed communication strategies and content plans supporting product launches, executive communications and business priorities while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Forrest previously spent more than four years with Heartland, where she developed and executed communication plans for employees, clients, partners and prospects; managed product and customer communications; and partnered with executive leadership to support corporate messaging and strategic initiatives. Earlier in her career, Forrest held marketing roles with 7-Eleven Stores and Varsity Spirit.

Cameron Smith Jenkins will serve as a Vice President in Cornerstone’s South Carolina office. She brings extensive experience in public affairs, strategic communications, advocacy, and government relations to the firm.

Jenkins previously served as a Vice President at The Herald Group, where she developed and managed multifaceted advocacy campaigns for clients across industries, including healthcare, transportation, legal reform and technology. She led a portfolio of client accounts, provided senior-level strategic direction, managed client relationships and teams, and developed advocacy strategies incorporating grassroots and grasstops engagement.

Prior to The Herald Group, Jenkins served as a Legislative Correspondent for Congressman William Timmons (R-SC). Her policy portfolio included healthcare, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, judiciary, environment and other key legislative issues. She also previously worked with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and interned in the office of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

David Ramsey will serve as an Associate in the firm’s  Atlanta office. Prior to Cornerstone, Ramsey served as an Associate at The Herald Group, where he developed policy-focused communications materials, including press releases, guest columns, social media content and messaging briefs for clients across the biopharmaceutical, defense tech, financial services and insurance sectors. He also worked closely with reporters to place earned media and collaborated with internal and external stakeholders to advance client advocacy efforts.
