Cornerstone Adds DNC Chief of Staff Hyma Moore to Growing Public Affairs Team

(WASHINGTON) – Cornerstone, a leading bipartisan government relations and public affairs firm, announced today the expansion of the firm’s public affairs practice with the addition of Hyma Moore, Chief of Staff to the Office of Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Jaime Harrison. With years of experience in political and strategic communications at the local, state and federal levels, Moore will assist Cornerstone clients in crafting effective strategic communications to achieve their goals with key audiences like policymakers, NGOs, opinion leaders, consumers and media.

Serving as Chief of Staff to the DNC Chair’s Office since February 2022, Moore has acted as the liaison between the Chairman and all DNC departments, outside stakeholders, elected officials, and campaigns. In addition to serving as the Chairman’s point of contact to Members of Congress and federal agencies, Moore also led the Chairman’s political engagement strategy and execution across the country, including managing the Chairman’s 2022 Midterm priorities and on-the-ground engagement.

“We are fortunate to have such a well-respected and experienced communicator join our Public Affairs team,” firm president Campbell Kaufman said. “His experience in campaigns and in the private sector will be invaluable to current and future clients, and his national network will help us to continue our expansion across the country.”

Previously, Moore served as the Battleground States Press Secretary for the DNC, where he managed communications staff in the battleground states of Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and Florida, working with state democratic parties to implement communication strategies to amplify the Biden Administration’s message. As part of this role, Moore maintained relationships with key local and national media contacts and designed political and communications plans to promote and amplify key messaging for the DNC and in support of the Biden-Harris Administration.

“I am overjoyed at the opportunity to join the well-respected Cornerstone team in D.C.,” Moore said. “I look forward to marrying my unique experience with Cornerstone’s reputation and expertise in providing quality public affairs counsel and support to its growing client roster.”

In addition to his political work, Moore also served as Vice President for External Affairs at Greater New Orleans, a regional economic development alliance. In this role, Moore managed the communications and government affairs strategy for the organization, as well as maintaining relationships with government and political leadership, stakeholders and media.

Previously, he served as Communications Advisor to former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, where he planned and executed communications and public engagement strategies including traveling with the Mayor across the country for official City business trips and matters related to the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

Moore also worked on several national political campaigns, including the 2020 the Biden-Harris campaign, the 2016 Presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton and 2017 campaign for Jon Ossoff for Congress.

Moore studied Economics and French Literature at Morehouse College in Atlanta, in addition to earning a certificate in French Literature and Culture from L’Université de Liège in Liège, Belgium.
