Derron's Bio
Derron joins Cornerstone following his time as Chief of Staff to Chair Pro Tempore Kenyan McDuffie at the Council of the District of Columbia. Derron managed all political, legislative, and operational matters for the Councilmember and served as the senior liaison for the Executive Branch and the federal government.Prior to this role, Derron served as the Head of Government & Industry Affairs at Rad Power Bikes, where he led government outreach in North America and Europe for the nation’s largest provider of electric bicycles. He provided strategic counsel to senior executive leadership on legislative, regulatory, and political matters impacting transportation, trade, labor, and the environment.
Other roles Derron has held include Public Policy Manager at Facebook Reality Labs at Meta, Inc., Senior Strategist at Federal Street Strategies, Senior Manager & Counsel at Samsung Electronics America, Inc., and Democratic Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging.
He holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Michigan State University.
