Former director of advocacy and government relations with AMITA Health adds health expertise
Cornerstone, a leading, bipartisan government relations firm with federal and state reach, today announced the addition of Julia Larkin to the firm as vice president. Julia has more than 12 years of senior legislative experience in the state of Illinois.
Prior to joining Cornerstone, Julia served as the director of advocacy and government relations at AMITA Health, one of the largest health systems in Illinois. During her time in this role, Julia represented the organization’s mission with state and local officials and executive agency staff, while also creating and executing strategies to ensure specific policy goals were met.
Previously, Julia served as legislative coordinator for the Illinois House Democratic Caucus for 10 years, where she assisted in the development of a wide array of policy positions and legislative initiatives. Julia has also worked for the Democratic Party of Illinois, where she led state representative campaigns, managed opposition research and oversaw state representative candidate recruitment efforts.
“As our work expands in the state, adding Julia to the team will allow us to continue exceptional client service while diversifying into other key policy areas,” Campbell Kaufman, Cornerstone’s Managing Director for state government relations said. “We are excited about the capabilities she brings to the firm.”
Julia joins Will Cousineau and Bill Smith in Cornerstone’s Springfield and Chicago, Illinois offices.
“I am thrilled to join Cornerstone’s team in Illinois,” Julia said. “I look forward to using my skills and expertise to continue to build upon Cornerstone’s success by helping support and advance our clients’ advocacy goals.”
