Cornerstone Strengthens Public Affairs Practice With Addition of Communications Strategist Sean Coit

MARCH 12, 2026 (WASHINGTON, DC) — Cornerstone Government Affairs, an employee-owned, bipartisan government affairs firm, announced today that it has further bolstered its Public Affairs & Strategic Communications Team with the addition of Sean Coit as Principal. Coit, who is based in Philadelphia, previously led Swivel Public Affairs and brings more than 15 years of experience helping leaders in politics and government, professional sports, and business navigate high-pressure, high-profile moments.

At Swivel Public Affairs, Coit advised corporate, government and nonprofit clients on strategic communications, media relations, government relations and crisis communications. He has also advised and supported congressional and statewide campaigns in Pennsylvania.

“I’m very excited to join Cornerstone’s growing public affairs practice and support our clients in Washington, Pennsylvania, and all throughout the country,” Coit said.  “Cornerstone’s team culture and bipartisan expertise, experience and relationships are unmatched, and I’m honored to help the firm continue to grow and succeed.”

Before launching his firm, Coit held senior leadership roles with Comcast Spectacor, including Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, where he oversaw all internal and external communications for the company’s sports, entertainment and other properties. This included the Philadelphia Flyers, Xfinity Mobile Arena, a leading global esports franchise and a major mixed-use development project.

Coit began his career spending more than a decade on Capitol Hill, most recently as Senior Advisor and Communications Director to U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), where he led communications strategy and served as the Senator’s primary spokesperson. Previously, he served as Press Secretary for Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) and Special Assistant for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). He also worked on several high-profile Senate campaigns, including those for Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chris Murphy (D-CT) and others.

Cornerstone’s Public Affairs & Strategic Communications Team specializes in offering strategic advice, public relations and communication solutions tailored to the unique and evolving demands of the firm’s clients.

Campbell Kaufman, Cornerstone’s President, reiterated the role that Coit will play in advising the firm’s corporate and nonprofit clients on the evolving communications landscape.

“Sean will be a tremendous asset to Cornerstone’s quickly growing Public Affairs & Strategic Communications Team,” Kaufman said. “His proven ability to navigate complex communications challenges and vast leadership expertise will directly benefit clients and our team.”
