Former vice president of Advanced Power Alliance and Oklahoma Farm Bureau to join firm
Oklahoma City, OK — Cornerstone Government Affairs, a leading bipartisan public affairs and consulting firm, announced Wednesday the addition of Mark Yates to the firm’s Oklahoma City office. Mark is a respected, longtime public policy professional with experience in statewide campaigns, legislative engagement, and strategic partnership building.
Prior to joining Cornerstone, Mark served as vice president at the Advanced Power Alliance (APA) where he represented leading national and international companies in the renewable energy industry. In this role, he managed the association’s regional public policy strategy, communications strategy, and membership recruitment efforts. Mark’s leadership has helped shape legislative and regulatory policy within the most important energy region in the country.
Before APA, Mark worked at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, where he led membership recruitment initiatives, mobilized a statewide grassroots campaign, and lobbied for rural issues on behalf of the nearly 90,000 farmers and ranchers. Before his time with the Farm Bureau, Mark was a professional educator in the Oklahoma public school system for eleven years where he served as a teacher, coach, and federal programs director.
“I am excited to join such a diverse and talented team of professionals,” Mark said. “Cornerstone has a proven track record of delivering results, and I look forward to contributing to that success in Oklahoma and across the country.”
In Oklahoma, Mark joins Brian Hackler, who launched the firm’s presence in the state in December 2020.
“We are very fortunate to attract a dynamic professional like Mark who has such a diverse background,” said Campbell Kaufman, the firm’s managing director for state government relations. “Oklahoma is a terrific place for us to be doing business, and we are thrilled to be growing our presence there.”
