Cornerstone, a leading bipartisan government relations and public affairs firm, announced today the expansion of the firm’s Louisiana team with the addition of Ashley Cain. The former Director of Public and Government Affairs at the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA), Cain becomes the firm’s first Louisiana-based public affairs professional, creating a permanent strategic communications presence in the Baton Rouge office.
Cornerstone’s roster of strategic communicators already has deep ties to Louisiana, including a former communicator for House Majority Leader Steve Scalise; a former communicator for Gov. Bobby Jindal and the Republican National Committee (RNC); a former communicator for Gov. John Bel Edwards; and a former communicator for New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Greater New Orleans Inc. (GNO Inc.). The addition of Cain to the team provides significant, expanded policy communications experience, positioning Cornerstone as a leader in strategic communications in the Bayou State.
Prior to joining Cornerstone, Cain held various leadership positions at LMOGA. In her most recent role, she oversaw the development and execution of comprehensive government and public affairs strategies to promote the oil and natural gas industry at the federal, state and local levels. Cain was responsible for engaging with the state legislature, local officials, the media and the public to advocate for industry interests, building and maintaining these relationships to ensure a positive industry reputation and an optimal operating environment.
“I am honored to join the strong team at Cornerstone and build upon their success in the strategic communications space,” Cain said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to strengthen Cornerstone’s presence in Louisiana, while helping clients navigate challenges, shape policy discussions and drive meaningful results.”
She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications and sociology from Louisiana State University.
“We are so excited to have Ashley join the team,” firm President Campbell Kaufman said. “Her skillset and relationships across the state will help us continue to deliver for existing and future clients as well as build public affairs campaigns in new and unique ways.”
