JP's Bio

JP Homik joined Cornerstone in July 2026, and currently serves as a Principal in the Nashville office.

Prior to Cornerstone, JP served as an Associate at McMahan Winstead and Richardson. He previously worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he provided government relations services for the hospital. In his role at Vanderbilt, JP implemented multiple initiatives, including the expansion of telehealth services, broadening scope of practice issues and increasing funding for graduate medical education.

JP previously served in the Office of Governor Bill Haslam as a Legislative Liaison to Capitol Hill. In this role he focused on healthcare and education, guiding key initiatives through the legislative process including combating the opioid epidemic in the state, expanding adult education and increasing educational opportunities for National Guard members. JP also served as Legislative Director for the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, where he helped expand healthcare access and modernize services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

JP began a life of public service as a member of the Army’s 101st Airborne Division, where he completed two combat tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. As an Air Assault soldier, JP served in the Amy’s most decorated Military Police Battalion and was awarded both a combat action badge and an Army commendation medal for his service in Iraq. After transitioning out of the Army, he served as a Metropolitan Nashville Police Officer while pursuing his degree through Lipscomb University’s Yellow Ribbon Program.

JP holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Justice and Society and a minor in Conflict Management from Lipscomb University. He currently resides in Franklin, Tennessee, with his family.
