Andrew's Bio

Andrew Schaeffler joined Cornerstone as an associate in January of 2024 and primarily focuses on providing grant monitoring services to clients through the firm’s OpsWatch service.

Andrew was a member of our D.C. Intern class for three consecutive sessions serving as an OpsWatch intern. In this role, Andrew was responsible for supporting local government, higher education and nonprofit clients navigate federal grants, earmarks and additional funding opportunities by compiling weekly grant reports, performing research and writing memoranda. He also analyzed the implementation of appropriations bills and legislation to see what implications they have on federal grant funding.

Prior to his Cornerstone internships, Andrew served as a political assistant at the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State. In this role, he assisted Secretaries of State and their campaigns with various projects during the 2022 election cycle, including those focused on policy, communications, and data. Additionally, Andrew served as a consultant and Vice President of Outreach with Michigan Political Consulting, where he led client teams for nonprofit organizations and political campaigns.

Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in quantitative methods in the social sciences from the University of Michigan.
