“Polk County typically reports pretty quickly,” said Republican political consultant Jimmy Centers. “And so I’m going to be watching for how big the margins are for Democrats like (governor candidate) Rob Sand, like (U.S. Senate candidate) Josh Turek and (3rd District congressional candidate) Sarah Trone Garriott. I think that’s going to be an early barometer of the energy and enthusiasm for Democrats this cycle.”
