Trevor's Bio
Trevor McGovern joined Cornerstone in June 2023 and serves as an assistant vice president, primarily focusing on providing grant advisory services to clients through the firm’s OpsWatch service.Trevor previously worked in Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration with the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal, where he served as a Policy Analyst. In this role, Trevor supported the statewide implementation of New York’s Community Development Block Grant funding for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), as well as other Federal and State funding sources for disaster recovery and resiliency activities. He contributed to management, oversight and delivery of funded projects across the state in coordination with the relevant Federal and State agencies.
Additionally, Trevor co-led the agency’s efforts to secure competitive federal grant funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. Trevor identified potential funding sources and projects, coordinated with external partners and drafted the agencies applications to multiple federal grant programs. He has successfully secured awards from the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Interior and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
While in graduate school, Trevor completed his master’s thesis with the New York City Economic Development Corporation and served on multiple policy consulting projects with the New York City Housing Authority. Trevor has received a master’s in Public and Urban Policy from The New School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fordham University.
