Michael's Bio
Michael joined Cornerstone in May of 2024 as a Senior Associate for our federal government relations team in DC. He supports client teams in a variety of issue areas including national security, homeland security, immigration, international affairs and economic development.Michael comes to the Cornerstone team following his time at Gribble, Boles, Stewart & Witosky, a Des Moines-based law firm, where he served as an Associate Attorney. In this role, he conducted research and drafted legal documents in support of the firm’s clients and prepared the firm’s partners for appellate arguments. Michael also participated in various legal proceedings, including depositions, mediations, hearings, trials and appellate oral arguments on behalf of clients.
Prior to this role, Michael served as a Government Relations Intern in Cornerstone’s Des Moines office during the Spring of 2023. In this role, he drafted memos on bills of interest to clients, facilitated communication regarding weekly updates on legislative action and tracked various bills submitted by the Iowa legislature.
Additionally, Michael previously served as a Law Clerk at Gribble, Boles, Stewart & Witosky and as a Legislative Clerk in the Iowa Senate.
Michael holds a Juris Doctorate from Drake University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
