Matt's Bio

A native of South Portland, ME, Matt Marks joined Cornerstone’s Maine office with more than 25 years of political experience in the state. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge to each client he serves, with vast expertise in transportation and infrastructure, housing, climate and environment, energy, public safety, workforce development, and state appropriations.

Before joining Cornerstone, Matt served as Associated General Contractors’ (AGC) chief operating officer (COO) in 2008. As the COO, he managed regulatory efforts for the Association’s Maine Chapter and was selected as the Chapter’s CEO in August 2012. At AGC, he led the team that earned two national public relations awards for advocacy.

Matt serves on the Maine Climate Council, Maine Offshore Wind Advisory Committee, Offshore Wind Port Advisory Group, and as a board member of the Maine Business Immigration Coalition. Having received his Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in applied technical leadership from the University of Southern Maine, he was selected as the University’s Applied Technology Alumnus of the year in 2013. Matt currently resides in Scarborough with his wife and children.
