Laura's Bio
Laura brings over two decades of legislative and health care policy experience to her role at Cornerstone.Before joining the firm in 2012, she spent more than a decade in the U.S. House of Representatives, which included a five-year stint as professional staff on the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee. In this capacity, Laura was responsible for the Medicare Part A portfolio, providing policy direction for the Committee and advising Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) and other Committee Members on issues affecting the nation’s 6,000 hospitals, home health providers, skilled nursing facilities and all other post-acute care providers, among other policy areas.
Laura continues to rely on her years of experience working with Medicare payment policies, the Affordable Care Act, hospital reimbursement and policy issues and health information technology to assist Cornerstone clients with their policy priorities. As a recognized thought leader in the health care field, she has delivered numerous speeches across the country to health and business clients and other large audiences.
A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Laura first moved to DC to work for her hometown Congressman, Rep. Jim McCrery (R-LA). She continues to take great pride in assisting Cornerstone’s Louisiana-based clients who are working to provide healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for all Louisianans. Laura currently resides in Fairfax Station, Virginia, with her husband and three daughters.
