Prior to Cornerstone, Kelsey served as an Associate at Powell Tate, the public affairs unit of the Weber Shandwick Collective. In this role, Kelsey developed and executed the social and digital media strategy for defense industrial base coalitions, supported government relations efforts with the Department of Defense and Members of Congress, assisted with congressional outreach efforts, engaged with key U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps departments and wrote a monthly industry newsletter for stakeholders.
At Powell Tate, she also served as a Junior Associate, where she supported media relations for a Fortune 500 financial organization in the B2B, B2C and Institute space. She assisted with securing placements for C-Suite executives across top financial outlets in print and broadcast, created monthly earned media dashboards via analytic tracking efforts and assisted with executive visibility and thought leadership positioning. She also worked with the crisis and corporate issues team to conduct daily media reports and analyze industry trends to assess Powell Tate’s corporate reputation.
Kelsey holds a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication with a minor in sports media and political science from the University of Colorado Boulder’s School of Communication, Media and Information.
