Jeff's Bio

Jeff Hamling joined the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia office in 2017, bringing a wealth of experience and relationships in Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, DC.  He came to the firm after two years as a lobbyist in Denton’s Atlanta and Washington offices.  Representing a number of corporate, governmental and non-profit clients, Jeff quickly established himself as a contract lobbyist with both the Georgia General Assembly and the U.S. Congress. Jeff has a proven track record of success – ranging from appropriations to leading a casino gaming effort, and reforming the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.

Prior to Denton’s, Jeff worked at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce as vice president for state and federal affairs. In this role, Jeff established and implemented the Chamber’s federal advocacy program focused on providing Chamber members with a voice in Washington.  Jeff was a key member of the state advocacy team, leading the effort to reform and pass a transportation bill that brought an additional, annual $1 billion for Georgia’s transportation needs.

Jeff joined the Chamber after serving then-Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) for over five years. Starting as a staff assistant, Jeff was quickly promoted to deputy chief of staff, overseeing five staffers in the Atlanta office and various aspects of the federal legislative staff.  Jeff also volunteered as a campaign advisor on Price’s 2006, 2008 and 2010 reelection campaigns.

Jeff has also been recognized by prestigious organizations for professional accomplishments: profiled in Capitol Impact Magazine’s People on the Move, “Rookie of the Year” award voted on by his peers in the Georgia lobbying community, and James Magazine’s 2017 “Georgia’s Political Influencers in Washington, D.C.”

Jeff earned his B.B.A. in Real Estate at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.  While at UGA, Jeff was awarded the William R. Bracewell Greek Leadership Award, which is given annually to one Greek male and female out of over 4,000 Greek students who exhibit outstanding leadership in their four years in the Greek Community. He was also a member of Gridiron Secret Society.

Jeff and his wife, Caulie, reside in Roswell, Georgia with their three children.
