Cornerstone Principals Jimmy Centers and Matt Paul spoke with the Des Moines Register about the results of Iowa’s primary elections, and what November’s highly competitive election might entail for Republicans and Democrats across the state.
“I’m sure [the candidates] going to be drawing sharp contrasts with each other as well on issues that Iowans are very passionate about, whether it’s reproductive rights, whether it’s fiscal policy and how we work on the state budget going forward,” said Jimmy Centers, a Des Moines-based Republican strategist.
“The midterm election is a referendum on Trump. I don’t think there’s any question about that. And in Iowa, it’s all about kitchen-table issues,” said Matt Paul, a Des Moines-based Democratic strategist.
