Orla's BioOrla McAlinden joined Cornerstone in March 2019 as an associate primarily supporting the firm’s energy clients, among other issue areas. She assists in issue monitoring, conducts policy research and analysis, and facilitates legislative advocacy and outreach.
Prior to her current position, Orla served as a policy intern in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Previously, Orla worked as a political research intern for the Washington State Attorney General and supported Senator Patty Murray’s 2016 reelection campaign as a campaign finance intern for Newman Partners—a political consulting firm based in Washington State. During her time at Washington State University, Orla supported the Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service as an intern and co-founded the WSU Political Science Club.
Orla graduated summa cum laude in December 2018 from the Washington State University Honors College with a double degree in Global Politics and French with a minor in Global Studies. Orla is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society and presented her undergraduate thesis, “Brexit: Bordering on the Troubles in Northern Ireland,” at the 2018 Pacific Northwest Political Science Association annual meeting.
