Mike's BioMike joined Cornerstone's Baton Rouge office as a principal in October 2021 after more than seven years of working for the Ascension Parish Government. He brings more than 16 years of experience in public administration and local government, engineering, sales, construction and project management, disaster recovery program delivery, alternative project delivery and program management.
Most recently, Mike served as the director of the Ascension Parish Government Project and Construction Management Department. Prior to that, he was the assistant director of the Public Works Department, where he spent most of his time managing various civil works projects and was responsible for developing the 85 million dollar Move Ascension Program, which was the first all-encompassing transportation infrastructure program the parish had ever developed. Mike and his team were responsible for successfully identifying and fast tracking a group of quick start projects that were further complicated due to funding restrictions and multi-entity stakeholder involvement. The Move Ascension Program continues to deliver successful transportation projects on time and under budget.
Before working for Ascension Parish, he spent more than eight years at CDM Smith, an international design and consulting firm, as a client service manager selling various civil and environmental design projects.
Mike served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1996-2001 and received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Louisiana State University.
