Armando's BioArmando Diaz joined Cornerstone Public Affairs in December of 2019 with nearly 10 years of experience in public relations. He most recently served as a member of Ernst & Young (EY)’s national public relations team, where he spent more than five years. At EY, Armando worked directly with firmwide leadership, which included the Americas Vice Chair of Talent, Americas Vice Chair of Public Policy, and Global Diversity Officer, amongst others, with all external and digital communications efforts. He has strong experience in issues related to crisis communications, audit regulations and financial services.
Prior to joining EY, Armando worked as a public affairs specialist and national spokesperson at GED Testing Service. He joined GED Testing Service after the company was acquired by Pearson Education – one of the world’s leading educational enterprises. In his role he provided communications counsel to the CEO and other key leaders, while working closely with the company’s government relations team to help educate federal and state/local lawmakers in all 50 states about the exam’s new curriculum, development process and accessibility.
Additionally, Armando also worked for Widmeyer Communications as an account executive, where he provided communications support to public affairs and higher education clients. He began his career at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute as a communications assistant in 2010.
A native of Boynton Beach, Florida, Armando earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida.
