Alex's Bio
Alex joined Cornerstone’s Washington, D.C. office as a senior associate in August 2021 to support the firm’s federal government relations team in a variety of issue areas, with a focus on international affairs. Her role includes issue monitoring, facilitating legislative advocacy and outreach, and conducting policy research and analysis.Previously, she served as a community outreach coordinator for Commissioner Ben Sorensen in the City of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In this role, she engaged and coordinated with local community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders in order to promote the Commissioner’s agenda and messaging goals, managed a robust policy portfolio, and prepared research and presentations for the Commissioner. Alex also served as an aide to Commissioner Nan Rich of Broward County, FL, where she conducted policy research across several issue areas. Prior to Ft. Lauderdale and working for Broward County, FL, she was with Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) as an outreach staff assistant and assistant to the State Director.
Alex is a Florida native and alumna of Florida International University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations with a focus on Latin American and Cuban politics and international political economy. She loves to hike, travel and volunteer in her free time.
