Cornerstone Team

Daniel Fleming

Dan Fleming serves as a part-time senior consultant for Cornerstone. Following more than twenty-three years military service, including over five years in legislative liaison for the Department of the Army, Dan is now in his fifteenth year of representing the interests of clients in Washington.

Prior to joining Cornerstone in 2003, Dan spent over four years at a
leading defense-focused lobbying firm. During his final active duty assignment as Chief of Army Liaison to the House of Representatives, he developed extensive contacts with a broad variety of Members of
Congress and committee and personal staffs. He traveled throughout the world with Members and staff of nearly all committees of the House. He routinely interfaced with embassies, foreign governments, and U.S. industry overseas. He was positioned to provide unique insights to the senior civilian and uniformed leaders of the Department of Defense on key issues impacting the annual congressional authorization and appropriation cycles. In an earlier legislative assignment, Dan worked with the House and Senate Armed Services Committees focusing on the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) account.

With service in Korea, Europe, and the continental United States, Dan has a strong combat arms background. In Army aviation, he has uncommon operational credentials, having served in air cavalry, assault, attack, and utility units. Qualified in seven U.S. and foreign military helicopters, Dan received his Master Aviator rating while in command of an AH-64 (Apache) battalion.

Dan earned a B.A. in Government from Ohio University and an M.A. in Management from Webster University, Missouri. He is a graduate of the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and a life member of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).
