Robert Ruffins, a native of the D.C. Area, recently joined Cornerstone’s Annapolis Office as an associate. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Robert spent three years working in New Orleans as a Teach for America Corp member and a founding teacher at George Washington Carver Collegiate Academy.
In 2015, he left the classroom to work as a legal fellow at the Louisiana Department of Education, focusing on charter school authorizer accountability. After leaving the LDOE in 2015, he spent a year as a community organizer for Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE). At LEE, Robert supported several successful campaigns that centered on funding K-12 education in Louisiana.
After returning to Maryland in August of 2016, he served as a Field Organizer on the Maryland Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign. Robert is a graduate of Harvard University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in History, and has been published in Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine.
