Jimmy Centers joins Cornerstone Public Affairs this month as Vice President for Strategic Communications. A Peoria, Illinois, native, Centers has worked in Iowa politics for over a decade. He has served on presidential, congressional, gubernatorial and legislative races, in addition to various other state-wide campaigns.
Centers worked for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad’s and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds’ 2010 election and was hired to join their administration’s communications team in 2011. He was promoted to communications director for their administration in 2013. During that time, he led messaging efforts on their legislative priorities, served as the administration’s on-the-record spokesman, wrote speeches for the governor and lieutenant governor and organized hundreds of events and press conferences.
Since departing the Branstad-Reynolds administration, Jimmy has worked in the private sector and has continued offering various communications and public affairs consulting services.
