Chris Champion, a native of Greenwood, Mississippi, previously held the position of policy director for Governor Phil Bryant, where he oversaw the Governor’s legislative agenda and advised him on state and federal issues. Prior to becoming the policy director, Chris’s portfolio included advising the Governor on energy, transportation, agriculture, environment, marine resources, and fish and wildlife related issues. Chris was the Governor’s designee to the Tennessee Valley Authority Regional Energy Resource Council, Delta Regional Authority, Appalachian Regional Commission, and the Southern States Energy Board.
Prior to joining Governor Bryant’s staff in 2012, Chris worked as a special assistant to United States Senator Roger Wicker in Washington, D.C. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Chris worked for Cobbs, Allen and Hall in Birmingham, Alabama, before joining Senator Wicker’s staff.
An Eagle Scout, Chris is the past president of the Washington, D.C. Ole Miss Alumni Association. Chris and his wife Olivia reside in Jackson, MS, with their children Amelia and Worth.
